Kim Coit, J.D. – Following his graduation from Boston College Law School in 1971, Charles “Kim” Coit’s career began as an attorney in Boston where he worked as a general practitioner but with a focus on real estate. He moved to Maine in 1978 and became the Director of the Center for Real Estate Education at the University of Southern Maine where he developed prelicensing and continuing education courses for practicing real estate licensees and taught real estate finance as a faculty member at USM. In 1987, he took a position with Mark Stimson Associates, a Southern Maine real estate agency with 150 agents and 13 branch offices where, as Vice President, he was director of training, compliance officer and director of the relocation department.

In 1998, he started with RE/MAX By the Bay a Portland-based real estate agency where, as Vice President, he served as compliance officer.
In 1998 he was President of the Maine Associations of REALTORS®. He is the author of Introduction to Real Estate Law published by Dearborn Publishing Company in Chicago and Introduction to Maine Real Estate Law. He teaches prelicensing and continuing education courses for licensees throughout Maine.
He lives in South Portland.

Steve Hammond is a 30-year veteran of the real estate business and is a previous co-owner and President of the largest real estate organization in Maine.
He helped a company grow over 350% in twenty months to become the largest brokerage in its state with over fifty offices.
During his career he has taught thousands of agents in prelicensing, productivity and technology.

Geoff MacLean brings 30 years of practical brokerage and company leadership experience to all of his teaching and consulting. He successfully mediates disputes for the REALTOR® organization, licensees and consumers. Geoff serves as a consultant for many real estate companies and is experienced as an expert witness in real estate brokerage matters. Geoff has been Chair of the Maine Association of REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee since 1996 and he was twice named REALTOR® of the Year for his local Board of REALTORS®.

Ed Getty is a well-respected and highly rated instructor and consultant. With 30 years’ experience in sales and management, Ed has achieved total sales production of over $100 million. He has served as president of his state’s REALTOR® organization and was twice named REALTOR® of the Year for his local Board of REALTORS®

Jane Greer has over 20 years of experience designing and delivering both classroom and online training in the real estate, insurance and financial services industries. She holds a Master’s in Education from St. Joseph’s College, with a focus on adult education and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Dartmouth. Jane is adjunct faculty at St. Joseph's College in the MS Ed program and has taught training evaluation at the state university. Jane is active in the local chapter of the American Society for Training and Development, and has presented at the Real Estate Educators Association national convention.

James Nadeau is a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, lives in Portland with his wife and two sons. He has been a State of Maine Professional Land Surveyor since 1993 when he co-founded Nadeau & Lodge, Inc. It was later renamed James D. Nadeau, LLC, upon Jim becoming sole owner in 2005, and was recently renamed Nadeau Land Surveys for product recognition. Jim currently is the only Professional Land Surveyor in New England that holds the national designation as Certified Floodplain Manager. He also has obtained a North Carolina based Certified Floodplain Surveyor designation and is also a Certified Underground Utility Locator. He currently serves as the Chair of the Ethics and Standards Committee, and Liaison for the National Flood Insurance Program, on behalf of the Maine Society of Land Surveyors. A REALTOR® since 2004, he is affiliated with The Maine Real Estate Network as a State of Maine Associate Broker and is able to provide a unique service aiding both buyers and sellers with a wide range of real estate brokerage services. Jim is currently an instructor at The Real Estate Learning Group while he continues as a student at the New England College of Business and Finance. He is always striving to expand his knowledge in many peripheral industries to deliver a high level of service to his clients.

Melinda Torrens holds broker licenses in Maine and Virginia. As a top producing residential REALTOR® she recruited, trained and mentored new real estate licensees with Weichert, Realtors® and RE/MAX. As Marketing Director at her Weichert, Realtors® office she created training materials as well as marketing and technology tools for her agents. She is a certified instructor of the VHDA’s Homebuyer Class and has served as the managing broker of two real estate agencies. She holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Southern Maine and is currently working on an M.S. in Adult and Higher Education. She is affiliated with RE/MAX Alliance in Westbrook, Maine.

Dr. Roger Meade, EDD was the Director of Real Estate Program at Northern Kentucky University for 1985 – 2001. He is a Certified Appraiser.

Donna Miller has taught real estate principles and practice, Kentucky law and broker classes in Kentucky for over 30 years. She is known as the “real estate encyclopedia” and is an instructor who makes a difference in the lives of anyone in her classroom.
